White trundle bed – Many people choose bunk beds or stagnant beds for their children, especially when the space is limited. But a trundle bed is also a great option. Whether used on a daily basis or just as an extra bed when guests stay, a trundle bed can be very convenient. A trundle bed slides under an existing bed that allows for extra sleep space without occupying floor space when not in use. It’s also a sure way to switch from crib to big kid bed because little ones do not have much to fall if they roll out of bed during the night. This is a common concern with bunk beds when the children are very small.
While white trundle bed is available for purchase, it is possible to make your own. When preparing to do such a project, keep in mind that safety gear and the necessary tools are imperative. The old saying, measure twice, cut once is also priceless. Begin by taking bed measurements to ensure that the trundle bed fits easily under the bed where you intend to save it. You must measure from the inside edge of the leg at the tip of the bed to the inner edge of the leg at the foot of the bed. Measure the width as well. Measure each section twice. Write down the measurements and start making a list of materials.

You will need to create a tree frame by adding boards to the bottom of the plywood base and then adding pages. L-fittings work great to secure corners. Make sure the sides are deep enough to keep the mattress secure yet not so high that the white trundle bed is difficult to slip under the bed. You can buy cut plywood at many home improvement centers, generally for just a few cents more than the price of the material. Purchasing pre-cut wood will greatly reduce your workload, the time you spend on the project, and it’s difficult to transport plywood. Ask about pre-cut timber as well. You can choose furniture grade wood. It costs more, but it’s higher quality and will require less grinding. The tree must be sanded and dried before primer or paint applied. When the frame is finished, you will want to slide easily, so you will need to mount caster wheels. You can also try to add drawer draws to the front to make the trundle bed easier to pull out.
