Murphy bed with sofa, as the name implies, function as beds and as sofas. They are excellent for bedrooms, camps and cabins. Your guests will be happy to sleep on a folding sofa bed instead of on inflatable mattresses or sleeping bags. Building one is an easy task that only requires some basic knowledge about carpentry. Position two 28-inch boards on its side 2 inches wide, parallel, and 41 inches apart. Place seven 60-inch boards perpendicular to and above the two previous boards so that their ends protrude from the sides to a length of 8 inches on each side. Place them with a space of 1/2 inch. Screw the 28-inch boards using four screws for each. Repeat this step to complete two thirds of the structure of your sofa bed. These will be the external structures.

The hinge pin should rest within the 1/8 inch (0.3 cm) gap, with these positioned at 8 inches from both ends of the 60-inch boards.
